#haiku by @AlexaSkies   [Home]
perseverance / the last of the fire / continues to glow
wondering what / it all means / the sparrow and I
partial eclipse / some things / remain hidden
dark morning / rains blurs / the only light
waiting for words / I wish I'd heard / dark skies
moments like hours / the dust lingering / in the corner of the eye
white lines the water / the constant sea / watching and waiting.
lengthening days / clouds conceal / the light that comes.
between the branches / something stirs / the heron's glance.
waning moon / seeing something more / in circles of the sky
empty tracks / all we know / blurred through a window.
rain on fountain / water meets water / enchanting the eye
dampened field / moisture's touch / drowns the blades
closed place / where we once sat / an empty soup bowl.
ever echoing / stillness and / the sombre sound of strings
once again / the words come / heavy rain.
misty windows / hiding the truth / that lies outside
pale hand / with waking word / early frost.
light shadows / cast by the unseen / avoidable truth
floodlit church / the final chord / fills the corners
an afternoon drive / beneath the wheels / the unseen.
mild morning / the river turns / in new cycles
Brightening sun / seeing it all / in a new light
through the window pane / the blurred lights / forever move
ever echoing / the laughter of those / left behind
sixth form lounge / each circle speaks / in different tongues
persistent rain / the trees holding / all they have
the silhouette / branch upon branch / behind the blue
broken glass / clear tears / across the floor
descending dark / outshining the moon / the damp streetlights
first sun / the blackbird digs / a little deeper
on the page / marking the words that are not mine / the tea ring
rising sun / the tumbled bucket lying / we are what we are.
among the green / the hope of spring / white bulbs
watching the water / her eyes hunt hopeful / for the heron
dark evening / all that lasts / the hum of cars
softer soil / still digging deeper / for the truth
her voice / across the birdsong / arrival of dusk
walled garden / within the rock / all is held
dampened glass / seeing less / the road erodes
afternoon's end / on the horizon / the waking lights
face in hand / her words filling / the empty local
the last of the light / blinking on the estuary / the truths hidden
talking of / some other poet / I comb my hair
growing warmth / the sunshine glinting / on the clean floor
passing minutes / the unfinished task / growing harder
the spot the sunlight missed / the crow picks / at the quiet carcass
the sun returning / the blackbird and his twig / it is spring
sunset / the echo of / the weatherman's sigh
a striking clock / the blur of dark / and headlights
one car / among the spaces / lingering hum
drops on the pane / the outline / of the dark branch
lost in some daydream / the words that snap / the silence
the sun so bright / she cannot see / the window
first morning / of sun, the birds / singing, still.
sweaty palms / upon the paper / light applause
minute's silence / lingering a little / city lights
his husky voice / humming a tune / I once knew
full moon / the ice gathers / in new shapes
sunny morning / the empty bird feeder / swaying in the breeze
an evening of mist / a figure / among the fields
quiet afternoon / rocks and water / moving on
lingering moon / not so bright / among the grey
low cloud / the telegraph pole / gathering crows
the branches / clearer through / the narrow fields
hours passing deeper / in the lamplight / a striking clock
her words / still heavy / easing rain
branch's outline / the wind dancing / between the arms
borrowed stapler / their names / fading like time
caught in the spotlight / the moth / glowing and falling
an eager fan / the duo's gratitude / at home-made cake
swaying / with the breeze / the flowering trees
the call of years past / the swallows nesting / at the same window
clear skies / over the hills / something new
in essence / each road's the same / he always knows the way.
sunday's sun / his voice and the light / leaking through the ceiling
colder breeze / leaving home / the beesĀ
clear skies / the radio clouding / the voices of birds.
through the floorboards / the buzz / of forgotten tunes
so much for spring / the winds turning / deeper in thought
two worlds / one wall / splitting drinks and poetry
yellow moon / the years stain / the surface
the persistence / of days / a flickering light.
fading sun / she takes her / daughter's hand.
leaving fair / she takes her horse / off the ground
quiet choir / numbers dwindling / like notes
deciphering the words / of drunkards / late night train
seated on / fading dreams / another birthday
Easter Sunday / nothing but sun / in her vision
silence echoing / through the branches / spring breeze
approaching dusk / creaking floorboards / overhead
Strong wind / on a Summer's day / the truth of cherry blossom
the reflection / of the road ahead / circling on his glasses.
the striped t-shirt / lying on the floor / a far-off cry
echoes of something / ringing in her ears / another sunset
waiting for a train / that's three minutes late / a loose tissue
from below / the buzz / of blues
his old book / a coffee ring / hiding the words
red tea / in china-blue cups / a chipped rim
after the storm / birdsong / among the branches
rain upon / the rotting window / nature's song
sunday evening / the drunkard walks / the swift stumble
gathering pieces / of 17 years / a cardboard box.
midnight / marking the patchwork / of the skies
last days / of lingering years / school's end.
rain upon / the windscreen / a winding path
murmurs in the library / the echo / of a turning page
late dusk / creaking floors / the lullaby
Windy morning / nothing stills / the hum of cars
Washing out / the coffee pot / the cockerel calls
in the distance / the wind lulls / the leaves of trees
taller than / all the others / the foxglove
tick, tock / awaiting still / what might be asked
only in wales / the boys in the corridors / carry Bibles
Early morning / the skies clear / with the call of the cuckoo
Local pub / the barmaid laughs / at bearded men
bright morning / a spider crawls / within the cracks
repairing the church / a neon rope / across the steeple
Filling the silence / the sigh of a man / I do not know.
Blue and red / a boat creates / the separation of colours
hiding the clutter / of teenage years / a cupboard door
Gathering years / the dusty cobwebs / left unclean
whispered words / the fledgling flies / a little further
colder evening / the bedroom curtains / remain closed
Four AM cold / faced with the glow / of the radio-clock.
Spanish steps / too busy / to tread a path
Leaving home / A rainbow above / the housing estate
settling down / the city noise / I do not know
First rain / a nervous boy / runs for cover
cloudy day / I misunderstand / the nod of a stranger
washing away / what's left behind / the t-shirt I outgrew
slow moving sky / the light overtakes / the gray
mid sunset / a minute becomes / too much to ask
quiet drink / a word turns / around the room
