Crescent moon above / silent witness to secrets / sweet, stolen kisses.
Days brightened with sun / The earth drinks in its splendor / We welcome you, Spring.
Sweet Spring says hello / Mother Earth smiles her greeting / bursting with flowers.
Two stroll hand in hand / bright stars bedazzle the night / romance in the air.
A child, not long ago / boyish youth is all but gone / now there stands a man.
She sits in the dark / the dreams all but forgotten / her love has grown cold.
As words are his world / the poet lives his life in poems / and brings words to life
Memories flood in / angry parting left its toll / tears roll down her cheeks
It was destiny / as children we fell in love / you are my whole world
Secret rendezvous / breathless in each other's arms / their love forbidden
Waves crash on the rocks / releasing their salty mist / the breath of the sea.
Sunrise serenade / birds outside my window are / singing their sweet songs.
As words are her world / the poet lives her life in poems / and brings words to life
All alone she sleeps / face buried in his pillow / his scent comforting.
She sits in the dark / her dreams all but forgotten / their love has grown cold.
I hear an owl's cry / hoo-hoo-hoo, he's questioning / I reply, It's me
Fluttering about / Goldfinches, bright like the sun / their song a chorus
I can feel your breath / so close to my ear as you / whisper sweet nothings
Footprints on the path / a traveler before me / his trail beckoning
As I near the woods / trees whisper in the wind / their voices beckon me
Blossoms of spring time / a painting of such beauty / a canvas sublime
Stars twinkling above / sublime beauty of the night / breath held in awe of
Many a great mind / in search of peace for his soul / found it in nature
Searching, I found love / was in my heart all along / hidden by past pain
Sitting on the porch / listening to the crickets / nightly serenade
May flowers burst forth / encouraged by the sun's rays / kissed by the dew drops
Counting the minutes / while awaiting your return / time seems to stand still
Everywhere you look / spring fairies have sprinkled their / golden pixie dust
A warm gentle breeze / a rocking chair on the porch / life in the country
Dandelion seeds / like mystical parachutes / take flight in the breeze
The smile on her face / failing to hide the sadness / showing in her eyes
Having lived so long / his soul longing to go home / he breathes his last breath
Drinking sweet iced tea / while sitting on my porch swing / southern simple joys
Caught between two worlds / not belonging to either / her life in turmoil
I hear an owl's cry / who-who-who, he's questioning / I reply, It's me
Wonders are revealed / when viewing the world as through / the eyes of a child
I think of your smile / replaced by a distant look / of a wounded soul
Oil pours from the sea / devastation in its wake / Mother Nature weeps
Unable to fly / birds' feathers covered in oil / their cries unanswered
I question my life / have I followed the right path / and where does it lead
Fledglings peeking out / anxious to see the world and / ready to take flight
Her heart in anguish / sad words spill onto the page / words, her therapy
A shimmer of light / through the dark tunnel ahead / a glimmer of hope.
The air so heavy / thick with anticipation / ripe with promises
Sadness so haunting / dark thoughts rise to the surface / blocking out the light
Leaves of red and gold / the mountains as Fall's canvas / nature the artist
As words are his world / the poet lives his life in poems / and brings words to life.
Spirits of the night / their ghostly forms leaving strange / shadows in the light
He calls me by name / no more than a whisper, yet / hauntingly eerie
Sweet sleep eludes me / ideas dance through my mind / a ballet of thoughts
In holiday best / Earth in her wondrous splendor / shows her Fall wardrobe
Sweet Mother Nature / each night tucks her Earth in bed / with golden sunsets
Though it may seem real / life is but an illusion / thoughts its creator
Such sweet melodies / the birds outside my window / singing their songs of joy
Mountain mist abounds / wildlife scurries to and fro / sweet home of my heart.
I lie in the grass / warmed by the sun's gentle rays / my soul is at peace
Ground covered with leaves / like colorful confetti / Fall celebration
Shine like a beacon / wondrous light for all to see / hope for the weary
Lost in a dream state / fragments of life flicker by / like old movie clips
Eyes crinkled with age / fleeting youth is all but gone / still, beauty remains.
The wondrous night sky / many lights from distant stars / gazing back at me
Roaring of thunder / raindrops pounding the tin roof / storm's bold symphony
Dark opposing clouds / ready to overshadow / the warm sunny day
My senses on edge / the distant call of an owl / hauntingly eerie
Almost deafening / the symphonious humming / of male cicadas
Harsh words said in haste / cut through your heart leaving scars / that may never fade
As fate would have it / in my search to find true love / I found my soul mate
In the silent void / she feels the sad emptiness / left by his parting
She sits in the dark / her dreams all but forgotten / the joy has grown cold.
Many memories / a kaleidoscope of thoughts / both happy and sad
Where has my youth gone / I stare at my reflection / a stranger stares back
